Cirencester's premier authentic BBQ & smokehouse venue actually started during lockdown when Neil Johnson rented the kitchen and launched Cheeky Swine as a pop-up takeaway, to instant acclaim.
In May 2023, he took over the full tenancy at the pub, where Neil and his team's passion for BBQ and smoking over live fire has led to consistently great reviews from people who know and a buzzing pub once again at the heart of the community.
The smokeshack out back houses a squad of large smokers, all wood and charcoal fired - no electric, no pellets - it's the real deal.

Classically-trained Neil has a talent and a skill that comes with real love and 20 years of experience of working in some of the very best hotel & restaurant kitchens, and the results are incredible.
The menu includes spare ribs, brisket, steaks, chicken and a number of house special burgers. The wings are regularly described by patrons as "the best ever", and the brisket as "just magic". Vegetarians are catered for too, and regularly changing specials include seafood and smoked cheeses.
On Sundays, we also do Neil's legendary roasts with the crispiest roast potatoes and all the sides!
